The passing of time is something so relative that between post adolescence and early adulthood so many things happen that a day feels like a week, a week like a month and a month can seem like a year. This is what happens with PAVVLA and the transitions between her albums. The Catalan artist, who has been acting in a TV series since she was 13 and singing since she was 15, started with an acoustic guitar venturing into folk for her first steps, she moved towards darker and more synth terrain on her debut Creatures, and concludes the first significant stage in her career with Secretly Hoping You Catch Me Looking. On this record Paula Jornet's alter ego finally emerges: strong, risk taking, and closer and closer to the morose pop of her point of reference Troye Sivan but, above all, more and more unequivocally and emphatically PAVVLA.
