Primavera Sound Barcelona
It is true that June of 44 have spent the last two decades in silence, but in some ways, it is as if they had never completely disappeared. In the same way as they took up the prefix “post” where Slint had left it, their way of understanding electric shockwaves as an expression of emotional textures influences an infinite number of their contemporaries and continuators. So their shadow still accompanies all of those who have at some time or other been interested in what happens when rock and hardcore slow down and expand. But from now on you won’t have to rely on ghosts: June of 44 is our present again.
